The contact - Elouan Beauséjour - doesnt show up as a person at the University.

And no news on the website of the University

And something else that is odd ...

It says:

"For further details please contact:

Elouan Beauséjour
Doctor of Archaeology and Art Sciences
L'Université Paris Descartes"

Since when do they ever invite you to contact them for more details?

No replies from my emails.

Anyone any idea why this would have made the news if it's all crap?

Quite bizarre.

here a French site posting this story...would love to see it as a real story...but by only looking at the picture with the ground....that is not the ground you find there in the region...so I would say it smells fishy...

Well i dont think it is beyond the realms of possibility that a 'time capsule' could be found,
but analysing texts since September [ie the last 6 months] and they located something that quick?

I think the most major issue is that when you search the university's website and the Explorers Club
involved - nothing comes back. I think that is very odd????

Yeah, very odd non-story that makes almost no sense. His Linked In page is odd as well (a PhD who doesn't list his education?):

https://www.linkedin.com/in/elouan-beau ... 41833113a/

and as Davinho points out, the Beauséjour coincidence is too much. I say poissons d'avril.

Hi Cealum,

Thanks for that - this fisrt sentence is very telling:

I am a freelance archaeologist specializing in Visigoths and Ancient Greece.

Looking for Alarics treasure in the Pyrennees?

I have been trained as a Classical Archaeologist, with degrees from British, Polish and American institutions, and have at European Archaeological researchers since completing my PhD in 2002. I have worked as a field archaeologist for the Department of History and the Museum of Copenhagen Museum as a project Manager.

I agree Cealum - none of that makes sense. You cant just say Bristish, Polish and American institutions. What the hell does that mean? Since when does a Department of History do 'field-work'?

Then he writes:

archaeological fieldwork in Greece and then became involved in a three-year project funded by the Greek government that gave me the opportunity to study Ancient sites in Arcadia.

ancient sites in Arcadia

Even i am suspicious now - and i like to give people the benefit of the doubt

He still hasnt answered my email - despite saying contact me for more details 8)

Yeah, very odd non-story that makes almost no sense

100% agree.
