Not strictly RLC related, but certainly touches upon the ideas of the authors that believe Jesus was a mortal and may have had children/been buried in France.

My limited understanding of Islam's position on Jesus is that he was mortal, a prophet and not a son of god (although they also believe some of the supernatural stuff which sounds nonsensical).

In fact this would seem to be along the lines of what Simmans, The Messianic Legacy authors and later Baignent in his own books have in essence put forward.

So a very old section of the Koran exists in England, in Birmingham. There is some debate (which seems to have fallen across Left/Right political lines now) that it pre-dates Mohammed.

Well I don't believe Mohammed was dictated the Koran anymore than he had a flying horse.

So if these texts do pre-date him, I wonder if they hint at a heretical (from Christian perspective) view that pre-dates Islam but would come to form a part of it? That being the Jesus was a Jewish Messiah in the original sense of the word and a rebel against the Roman's.

It raises some interesting questions.

Those who say it does not:

And those who say it does:

What is the general thoughts on here on this subject?
